Nature's Beacon

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars...Og Mandino

I am continuing to work on the Inner Works altered book collaboration along with 5 other artists. I recently completed my pages in Jill's book, with the theme of Designs in Nature. The book she chose to use is entitled I lift my Lamp and is the story of Emma Lazarus and the Statue of Liberty.

Here is one full page and some glimpses of the other two pages I completed. Click images to enlarge.

You can click here to see more of Jill's original pages, click here to see my post about these pages on our Inner Works blog, and click here to see the start of my own book for this project - Distressed Elements.

I am just finding myself or my footing creatively, I guess you could say, and I find that I really love textured pieces so you know that yours are always some of my very favorites. Love these tremendously!

Gorgeous work as always. Goodness but you're a clever dicky. PS I've started up a Federation. It's called "Something for Free?? Yes Please". Purely altruistic in motivation and art based, of course! So if you or any of your readers want ot join in the fun, come and take a look (just click on the "Free" tag).

Lovely work, Seth. You are sooo busy. Beautiful 'stone' textured items. What a colaboration it will be.

The image of the full page just blows me away. It is sooooo beautiful. The blue snippets remind me of robin's eggs - love the speckling.

This is crazy good. Love the feel of sliding down that vertical of "light". And your leading quote is inspiring too.

Amazing texture and your color palette is always so pleasing to me! Nature's Gifts bring to mind Joseph Cornell.....what a fantastic swap this must be!

So much to see...I will return to go to each clickable spot. But what I see so far delights my eye.

Utterly wonderful. How did you get what looks like robin's eggs in the blue? Oh, it's just great. Love it.

Seth - as usual absolutely inspiring...always finding wondeful ways to push the creative edges...I love the shadow from the holes in the paper and the images popping out enticing...can't wait to actually see it in person, blessed that I can do that...Thanks for being part of this project..you are all so wonderful to work with ~ Supria

This is truly beautiful. I can "feel" each element.
I have adopted the saying you posted at the top of the page. I wish I had known it 11 years ago! But I have it in my heart now. This is the way I think, I just needed the right words.
